Copenhagen Central Station

The primary and largest train station in Denmark is located in Copenhagen, where it is known as Copenhagen Central Station. After Nrreport station, it is the busiest station in Denmark, with over 100,000 passengers each day. It has entrances at Bernstorffsgade (near Tivoli Gardens), Banegrdspladsen, Reventlowsgade, and access to platforms from Tietgensgade in central Copenhagen, between the districts of Indre By and Vesterbro.

The DSB railway network’s headquarters, Copenhagen Central Station, serves both domestic and foreign destinations. It provides commuter rail services of the Copenhagen S-train network across the Greater Copenhagen area, as well as lines M3 (City Circle Line) and M4 of the Copenhagen Metro network. It also provides international train services to Sweden and Germany, InterCity and Express train services across Denmark, regular and frequent regional train services to and from Zealand and southern Sweden, and return trains.

Copenhagen’s first station debuted in 1847. The current station building, designed by Heinrich Wenck, debuted in 1911. There are 13 tracks and 7 platforms at the station. There are numerous small shops, eateries, cafés, and fast food joints on the station concourse.

Intercity and Express trains run around Denmark from Copenhagen Central Station, and there are also services to a number of foreign locations.
